A few things worth knowing

Will my phone work with an eSIM?

Your phone needs to support eSIM and be unlocked, which means not tied to one carrier. Most iPhones from the XS and XR onwards and many recent Android phones do. Check your model before you buy.

When should I install it, and when do my days start?

Your 7 days start when the eSIM first connects to a network in China mainland, so you can install it before you fly. Start using it within 180 days of purchase.

Install it while you’re on Wi-Fi. Our install guide walks you through it on iPhone and Android.

When will I get my eSIM?

It usually arrives by email within a few minutes of paying, with your QR code and install steps. Check your spam folder too. If nothing has arrived after 30 minutes, contact us and we’ll sort it out.

Can I make calls or send texts?

This plan is data only, so it doesn’t come with a phone number. Calls and messages through apps like WhatsApp, iMessage and FaceTime work over its data.

Your usual SIM stays in your phone, so you can still receive texts on your own number. Your home carrier may charge for those while you’re away.

Will my home carrier charge me roaming?

Not for data you use on this eSIM. To be safe, set the eSIM as your mobile data line and turn off data roaming on your usual SIM before you land.

Can I share my data with others (hotspot)?
